St. John U.C.C. Higher Education Financial Aid Fund Grants

The purpose of this fund is to help members of our church in their pursuit of Higher Education. A grant for up to $1,000 per person is currently available to those who meet the criteria listed below. Grants to part time students may be given pro-rated based on the number of credit hours taken. The criteria for the grants are as follows: The applicant must be an active member of St. John U.C.C. and be in good standing with the church. The applicant must complete and submit the application  to the Minister. The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited under graduate degree program in a college, university or technical college. The applicant must maintain at least a “C” average in his/her studies to qualify for next years grant. The applicant must re-apply each year and keep St. John U.C.C. informed of his/her current address and any name changes. The applicant must return the form acknowledging receipt of the check. The completed application will be given to the minister. The applicants name will remain confidential with the minister and the treasurer or the person who writes the check. The minister will then recommend the processing of the grant to the deacons who have the authority to approve or disapprove it. The deacons will then report to the church council, who upon approval will authorize the writing of the check. Checks will be authorized near the middle of August. Checks will be issued directly to the student, or to the parent or to other qualified person if requested. If you have any questions on the process and/or want to complete an application, get in touch with Deacon Don Beach.
